Grand Knight’s Column

Howdy Brothers,

IMG_0255We are winding up the 2015-2016 fraternal year.  Mark your calendars now for the end of the year Hamburger and Corn Cook, June 22 in Zurek Hall at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.  Brothers, this is our biggest family event of the year, and I hope all of you will make plans to be there.  Besides the food and fellowship we will be announcing our annual awards including our Knight of the Year, our Family of the Year, and our 2016 Recipient of the Bob Boller Award.
Council Officer elections were held on July 1, 2016, at our regular council meeting.  First, let me say thank you to my brother knights for electing me to a second term as your Grand Knight.  I am humbled by, and appreciative of your confidence in me.  I am looking forward to working with a strong group of officers elected by the members of this council.
Ray Thomas our Deputy Grand Knight and Program Director needs some help with programming.  Please consider if you can take on one of these positions; Council Director, Church Director, Community Director, Family Director, Youth Director or Pro-Life Director.  We have 275 members in our council and we need to spread the work around if we are going to remain an active council.
I also want to Thank Russ Kellen for agreeing to be our District Deputy next year.  He will replace C. J. Romero who has been our District Deputy for six years.
We will have a budget meeting on June 29, to put together our council’s budget for 2016-2017.  All brother knights are invited to attend in RE Room 44 or 46.  If you cannot attend the meeting please call me or e-mail me with your comments or suggestions.
You will be getting emails from me as we develop our calendar and decide on projects.  Thanks for your membership in the Knights of Columbus.  You make a difference to others.
David Lamme, Grand Knight
